Why not book one of our steam railway photography courses with our leading railways photographer, Mark Writtle?
Mark has been a professional for over 20 years when he set up Writtle Photographic and a keen amateur for many years prior to that. He now photographs and designs some of the best steam railway memorabilia around the UK and supplies most of the major heritage railways in England.
In between this busy schedule, Mark has taken a handful of days per year to offer a limited number of keen amateur photographers the chance to spend a day with him at his favourite local railway – the Severn Valley.
Mark will show you some of the best locations and techniques to enhance your photography, and give you a memorable day photographing some of the country’s finest steam locomotives and carriage sets.
This is a fine gift for someone who is a keen steam railways enthusiast and amateur photographer.
Courses start at £195.00 per day and are run on a 1 to 1 basis ensuring you receive personal tuition tailored to your needs and expectations.
We begin around 9am at the Writtle Photographic premises in Bridgnorth, where we will give you a briefing on the day’s activities and a run through your camera functions. We will then take you off by car to the railway and start to put the theory into practice, photographing some of the country’s iconic steam locomotives. Lunch will be provided at no extra charge during the day (although you are free to bring your own packed lunch if you prefer). We will then continue around some of the iconic locations of the railway before returning to Bridgnorth to assess the days course where you will receive a momento of your day.
Please advise your preferred dates as this could change at short notice if weather is adverse.
Further details regarding the days schedule will be issued once booking is confirmed.
Here are a couple of testimonials from recent photography course customers;
“Just wanted to say thank you once again for yesterday – I had a most enjoyable time and, more to the point, feel more confident using my camera! I spent much of the evening going through my shots to sort out the best one from each location – apart from Waterworks Crossing where we took 43106 in two different spots. What most impressed me was that none of them required any work to ‘lighten’ them up!”
“Just a quick email to say many thanks for yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole day and learnt a lot about composition and also both my cameras. Had a quick squint at the photos and they look really good, (which may be a first for me !!) I won’t hesitate to recommend you if some of my “steam train” friends want a similar course.”
